NRK continue its much-lauded COAST2COAST series with London based house music doyens and NRK family members, Peace Division. Following the in the footsteps of Âme, X-Press-2 and Kerri Chandler, Peace Division AKA Justin Drake and Clive Henry deliver a 14 track mix of deep, contemporary house music of impeccable quality, traversing through material from the likes of Nick Curly, Mr. V, Joeski, Agnes and Kalabrese.
Never relying on one sound, Peace Division have cut an incredible reputation with house music over 15 years. Releasing on labels such as Junior Boys Own, Crosstown Rebels and most recently Tsuba alongside a non-stop DJ schedule of the worlds finest venues in Watergate, Fabric and DC10 (where Clive has been resident since it’s inception) the duo are renowned for their ability to build an airtight groove, and that’s what we have here.
From the dubbed out opener of Sackrai’s “As If” through to the Afrilounge dub of “Birds” by Chopstick & JohnJon, the mix is a warm, fluid affair which finds a perfect balance between ‘heads down’ inclusions such as of Agnes’ remix of Tom Demac and the more rousing nature of Daniel Mehlart’s “Deep Motion”.
Culminating in the insanely beautiful “MoveLoveDisco” from Kalabrese, Peace Division’s COAST2COAST flows beautifully through the spectrum of modern, electronic deep house with a tracklist that represents the brightest new producers on the block and displays Peace Division’s commitment to new talent/music.
