Kerri Chandler returns to the NRK label after his huge genre-crossover hit “Bar A Thym� last year, with a brand new vocal production, “The Promise�. Featuring Chandler himself on vocals, “The Promise� is everything you want out of a modern day house song; delicate pianos, warm pads, Chandler’s trademark swinging and crunchy beats, and a great melody as Kerri works his way around the keyboard. The vocal marries tender lyrics and a soulful yet melancholic delivery to produce a song a cut above the usual garage fare. “The Promise� has modern day classic stamped all over it.
On the flip, Kerri’s “Bigga Vocal Mix� strips things down to the raw; tough, precision beats, thundering NYC bassline, dry synth stabs and Kerri’s intoxicating vocal. It’s a mix that transforms the song into an almost entirely different track, and if definitely one for the heads.
“The Promise� is taken from Kerri’s forthcoming COAST2COAST mix comp on NRK, due for release in January 2007. Kerri has crafted a great mix of current house bombs and a few oldies thrown in for good measure, including tracks from Dennis Ferrer, Phortune, DJ Fudge, Jon Cutler and many more.
