NRK launch their brand new COAST2COAST series with a killer DJ mix from rising house star, Quentin Harris.
COAST2COAST is a new mix CD series from NRK, presenting a truly global portrait of the house music scene as it is today! COAST2COAST will concentrate on the music and the selector, bringing a slew of top rated DJ mixes to the punters over the next few months. Tastefully packaged in a cool looking digipak, COAST2COAST will always come with a bonus CD on unmixed tracks that feature on the DJ mix, a must for CD-DJs and collectors looking to boost their iPod content. COAST2COAST will bring the freshest and upfront DJs and music to the streets every eight weeks.
NYC DJ and producer, Quentin Harris, kick starts the new series with a brilliant DJ mix that mixes up his own synonymous production sounds, early influences and genre-busting future music. Quentin proves why he is on top of the house pile right now as his own productions weave in and out of the mix, giving a real personal feeling to the set. The ‘Shelter vibe’ is evident on his productions for Byron Stingly, La Vonz, Colton Ford, and the exceptional “Haunted track with it’s jazzy overtones and more than a nod to Lil’ Louis. Starting his mix off with the current “Oblivion from fellow NYC legend Kerri Chandler, Quentin ensures the party vibe early on by dropping The Jacksons & Mick Jagger over a funky loop from Franck Roger’s “Bone Of My Bone. The classic Pal Joey production “Ping Pong sounds just as fresh today as it did on it’s 1991 release, whilst the proto-techno of A Number Of Names 1982 production “Sharivari takes the mix down an edgier route, back-dropped with DJ Gregory’s beat frenzy “Traffic. The Arthur Baker produced “Play At Your Own Risk is a timeless piece of old school electro that fits in just perfectly to this eclectic and lively mix, ending on the classic 20:20 Vision remix of Blaze.
Quentin throws downs the gauntlet on this debut COAST2COAST release, to be picked up by
Kerri Chandler in November (released early 2007).
