Jamie Anderson follows up the colossal tech-house monster ‘Black Sun’ from 2001 with ‘Rebel Sound’. Taken from his debut album, ‘Blue Music’, ‘Rebel Sound’ is a well executed tribal house track with a rootsy reggae feel.
Disc 1 collects remixes from The Beloved and Jeno. The Beloved are veterans of the UK dance scene, with groundbreaking singles such as ‘Sweet Harmony’, ‘Sun Rising’ and ‘It’s Alright Now’. Recent years have seen Jon & Helena Marsh push their sound to accommodate the deep & electronic house scenes and their mix of ‘Rebel Sound’ is a twisting, snaking, deep houser with blessed out chords & a hypno bass riff.
Jeno hails from the Wicked Collective out of San Francisco that also includes DJ Garth (Greyhound Records). Jeno’s remix of Garth’s ’20 Minutes Of Disco Glory’ and his mix CD for DMC’s ‘United DJs Of America’ series were deciding factors in his assignment to mix ‘Rebel Sound’ and the result is a rim-shot heavy slice of dub induced West Coast house.
