Pete Heller'Dirty Grooves' nite:life014 [see above flash minisite for all all the info]
Heller has been a key architect behind some of British house’s finest moments, both as part of the Batman and Robin of acid house – Farley & Heller – and as a solo artiste: ‘Wild Luv’, ‘Afro Sleaze’, ‘Tweakin’’, not forgetting the toppermost of the poppermost ‘Ultra Flava’ and ‘Big Love’. And, as for remixes, well we won’t even mention them because there are simply too many. Alright then, here’s a few: Pet Shop Boys, Danny Tenaglia, U2, Degrees of Motion, The Source, Robert Owens. It’s a long old list…
Dirty Grooves – nite:life 014 - sums up everything about the all-new, sleek Pete Heller (he was recently re-designed for greater comfort and speed). Firstly, there are the beats that are tough but contain enough funk to keep the JB’s in peas for weeks. They have been specially baked on gas mark seven for an extra two hours to ensure your extra pleasure throughout the entire 78 minutes. A glimpse at the tracklist reveals the Murk boys’ appearance with their paean to drum addiction, ‘Dark Beat’, Sir Oliver’s dark-yet-light ‘A Deeper Sound’, while no Heller mix would be complete without a dose of his own studio medicine. This time it’s supplied by Heller in conjunction with New York’s Tedd Patterson, with a tune tearing up dancefloors: ‘Big Room Drama’. A journey into rhythm and sound. Get it whilst it's hot.
