Ian Pooley presents…A Subterranean Soundtrack’ is a new double CD, combing a fresh house/electronic mix that showcases Ian’s current DJ style, and a bonus CD comprising various original productions and remixes carved out over the years. Ian is booked week in and week out for his DJ sets, a combination of the funky and the techy, the deep and the uplifting, and the ‘Subterranean Soundtrack’ captures this sound with oldies and newies alike from such respected producers as Carl Craig, Moby (an early ‘Bassline’ mix of Fortran 5), Chicken Lips, Skylark, Freaks and I:Cube. The sound of the underground is represented with up and coming producers like DJ T (Get Physical), Satin Souls (the lush ‘Aziza’) and Mike Monday, ‘A Subterranean Soundtrack’ encapsulates the current sound of now but with a definite consideration for those who like their house music simply damn funky!
As a producer, Ian has been responsible for four albums, ‘Since Then’, ‘Meridian’, ‘The Times’ and his current ‘Souvenirs’, each one spawning big singles such as ‘What’s Your Number’, ‘Celtic Cross’, ‘Balmes’, ‘900 Degrees’ and many more. Remix work has also played a large part in Pooley’s career, with reconstructions of music by Daft Punk, The Cardigans, Carl Cox, Ken Ishii, The Beloved, DJ Hell, Yello and many more. The bonus CD included with ‘A Subterranean Soundtrack’ includes some of Ian’s hi-lights for the NRK and Honchos labels, including own productions such as ‘Fly Shuffle’ and ‘Quatro’ as well as remixes of Nick Holder, Miguel Migs and Noel Nanton, plus the big summer record from a few years back, ‘Piha’, recorded with old pal Dick ‘Magik’ Johnson.
